  8. Makes Thirsty • Salt causes thirst • Mt.5:6 “...thirst after righteousness” • Godly influence helps • 1 Pet. 3:1-2 “without the word be won” • Lead others to Christ

  9. Enhances Flavor • Makes food taste better “Salt is the stuff that makes things taste bad when it is left out.” Job 6:6 “Can flavorless food be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?

  10. Enhances Flavor • Christians sweeten life • Gal. 6:2 “Bear ye one another’s burdens” • 2 Cor.1:3-5 “be able to comfort them” • Influence can enhance life for others

  11. Salt Can Become Useless • Salt can lose its saltiness • Useless / destructive • Christians can loose influence • 1 Cor.15:33 ASV “Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals.” • Corrupt = to spoil, ruin • “good for nothing”

  12. Salt Can Become Useless • When the world enters our life • 1 John 2:15-17 “love not the world” • Rom. 12:2 - “be not conformed” “be ye transformed”

  13. Salt Can Become Useless • Cast out • Useless if we lose our influence • Become hypocrites • Despised by the world • No respect from the faithful “Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?” Luke 14:34
