Lavender • Noun • Definition: A light purple flower with a strong fragrance; a light purple color. • Example: My mom dries lavender so that the house smells good. Jericha’s prom dress was lavender.
Skid • Verb • Definition: To slide in an unexpected direction. • Example: The car skidded when I hit the brakes. Justhin’s sneakers skidded in the gym.
Displeasure • Noun • Definition: A feeling of annoyance or dislike. • Example: Casandra frowned with displeasure. The bully made recess a displeasure.

Facial • Noun • Definition: Having to do with the face. • Example: You use your facial muscles to smile. My grandmother uses Oil of Olay facial lotion.
Coordination • Noun • Definition: The act of working well together for a purpose. Example: Caitlin’s group had great coordination. Derek Jeter has great muscle coordination and that helps him be a fantastic shortstop.
Jealous • Adjective • Definition: Describes someone who feels bitter about something someone else has. • Example: • Katie is jealous of Allie’s friends. • Markus is jealous of DeVondre’s autographed basketball.
