  3. Leisure • Noun • Definition: Time off from work or chores. • Example: Steve played his XBOX 360 during his leisure time.

  4. Chortle • Verb • Definition: To laugh heartily. • Example: Santa Claus chortled in his sleigh.

  5. Uneasy • Adjective • Definition: Nervous or worried • Example: Marcos was uneasy when his mother got his report card.

  6. Perseverance • Noun • Definition: To never give up, no matter how hard something is. • Example: Mya showed perseverance and finished the race even though she was tired.

  7. Compromise • Verb • Definition: To reach an agreement by both groups giving something up. • Example: Tiffie and Elena compromised by watching Tiffie’s movie and going to Elena’s favorite restaurant.

  8. Disappointment • Noun • Definition: To be sad that something was not as good as it should be. • Example: The students’ bad behavior was a disappointment to Miss Mathis.
