2. What is STD`S • Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that can be transferred from one person to another through any type of sexual contact.

3. AIDS • (AIDS) is a disease of the human immune systemcaused by the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV).The illness interferes with the immune system, making people with AIDS much more likely to get infections, including opportunistic infections and tumorsthat do not affect people with working immune systems.

4. CHLAMYDIA Chlamydia, often misspeltClamidia, is one of the most commonly reported bacterial sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Global Chlamydia statistics show that an estimated 92 million new Chlamydia infections occur each year, affecting more women (50 million) than men (42 million). Chlamydia is caused by the bacterium chlamydiatrachomatis. This bacteria can infect the cervix in women and the urethra and rectum in both men and women. Occasionally Chlamydia can also affect other parts of the body, including the throat and eyes. Chlamydia often has no symptoms, especially among women. If left untreated, Chlamydia can cause serious problems later in life.

5. Syphilis • Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infectioncaused by the spirochetebacterium Treponemapallidum subspecies pallidum. The primary route of transmission is through sexual contact; however, it may also be transmitted from mother to fetus during pregnancy or at birth, resulting in congenital syphilis.

6. Herpes • herpes, lit. "creeping") is a viral disease caused by both Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2). Infection with the herpes virus is categorized into one of several distinct disorders based on the site of infection. Oral herpes, the visible symptoms of which are colloquially called cold sores or fever blisters, is an infection of the face or mouth. Oral herpes is the most common form of infection. Genital herpes, known simply as herpes, is the second most common form of herpes. Other disorders such as herpetic whitlow, herpes gladiatorum, ocular herpes (keratitis), cerebral herpes infection encephalits, Mollaret's meningitis, neonatal herpes, and possibly Bell's palsy are all caused by herpes simplex viruses.

7. Gonorrhea • Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Gonorrhea is caused by Neisseria gonorrhea, a bacterium that can grow and multiply easily in the warm, moist areas of the reproductive tract, including the cervix (opening to the womb), uterus (womb), and fallopian tubes (egg canals) in women, and in the urethra (urine canal) in women and men. The bacterium can also grow in the mouth, throat, eyes, and anus.

8. Hepatitis • Hepatitis is swelling and inflammation of the liver. It is not a condition, but is often used to refer to a viral infection of the liver. • Causes, incidence, and risk factors • Hepatitis can be caused by: • Immune cells in the body attacking the liver and causing autoimmune hepatitis • Infections from viruses (such as hepatitis A, B, or C), bacteria, or parasites • Liver damage from alcohol, poisonous mushrooms, or other poisons • Medications, such as an overdose of acetaminophen, which can be deadly

Genital Wart`s • Genital warts (or Condylomata acuminata, venereal warts, anal warts and anogenital warts) is a highly contagious sexually transmitted disease caused by some sub-types of human papillomavirus (HPV). It is spread through direct skin-to-skin contact during oral, genital, or anal sex with an infected partner.

How STDs spread • STDs are spread through contact with: • infected body fluids, such as blood, vaginal secretions, or semen • • infected skin or mucous membranes - for example, sores in the mouth • Activities that expose you to infected body fluids or skin include: • vaginal, anal, or oral sex WITHOUT proper use of a latex condom or other barrier methods. Anal sex is especially risky because it often causes bleeding. • • sharing needles or syringes for drug use, ear piercing, tattooing, etc. • • Having an STD may increase your risk of getting HIV. STDs can break down the body's most important defense - the skin and mucous membranes, causing sores and thus provide a way for HIV to enter the body.
