The Spirit in the • New Covenant • “The Spirit of God was hovering • over the waters” Gen 1:2 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with your forever, the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.But you know him, for he lives with youand will be in you – John 14:16,17

  3. It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor • will not come to you, but if I go • I will send him to you • John 16:7

  4. The Spirit’s new • and unique coming • Peter replied, Repent and be baptized everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that you sins may be forgiven. And you will receive thegift of the Holy Spirit - Acts 2:38 The abiding presence of God’s Spirit in our lives.

How to recognize a Spirit-filled church • Focus on Christ & converted to Him • A lot of godly, serving people with adesire to exist in unity together • A love for God’s word and biblical preaching • A humble focus on conviction, repentance from sin where the norm to lovingly confront sin • An orderliness and intelligibility when gathered
