Women Progressives • Jane Addams (Hull House) • Settlement house • New York Consumers’ League • Created a “white list” • Mueller v. Oregon • Limited workday for women to 10 hours • Revitalized suffrage mov’t • Working towards a federal amendment
Feminism • Younger, college-educated self-supporting women • Feminists = freedom for full personal development • Considered themselves equal to men • Sometimes conflicted with Progressivism • Example – Muller case
