Roman Forum “Take a click back to history.”
Characters • You can create your OWN character! Choose the hair/skin/eye color, and make him/her however you want. • Your character is an average citizen in Rome. • Other characters are: Shopkeepers, commoners, the king, and government officials.
Buildings • You have your own house that you can upgrade using the games currency, called Romapoints. • The Roman Forum is the main building. • The Coliseum is another important building. That’s where you fight to earn experience. • There are shops, that you have to work in for certain quests to be completed.
Currency/what you can earn • The primary currency in the game is Romapoints. • You can use Romapoints on upgrades, skipping difficult quests, and energy. • Energy is the secondary “currency” in the game. • Energy is used to clear items to construct more buildings, construction, and fighting in the Coliseum.
Quests and the main goal • You receive quests from the mentor. He is called Romaltic. • The quests he gives you all lead up to the main goal, which is to defeat King Bombardus. He wants to destroy the Roman Forum! • You get quests where you have to fight certain people that are part of the king’s council in the Coliseum. If you defeat them, you earn experience. If you lose, then the King tears away part of the forum, and you must rebuild it before it’s too late! • You can also give speeches that people vote on. If your speech is good enough, you earn experience. If you fail, King Bombardus can tear away part of the Forum, and the same rules apply. • Some other quests are: Taking over in a shop, building things, fighting, giving speeches, and clearing objects.
What are the possible tasks in the game? • Fighting: In the Coliseum, you can battle other players from around the world if they are online. Also, sometimes Romaltic gives you quests where you fight certain parts of King Bombardus’ council, and at the end, the king himself. • Shopping: There is a shop in this game. There you can buy: Buildings, energy, décor, and power ups (to use in fights.) These can all be bought with Romapoints. You can also but Romapoints with real money. • Speaking: You can click on a random person in your city, then a word box appears. Type something in, and your character says it! • Earning: You can earn Romapoints by fighting, giving speeches, and completing quests. You earn energy by purchasing it with Romapoints, or you can wait 10 minutes, and some of your energy comes back. Also, you can Harvest fruit to eat and gain energy. Lastly, you gain experience by giving speeches and fighting.
How are the laws of the 12 tables featured in the game? • There are two laws of the 12 tables that I will feature in my game. • The laws of the 12 tables are laws that the Romans made when they first formed their republic. • The two laws in my game will be: If fruit falls from your tree, it’s yours no matter where is falls. This will be applied in my game because there are trees that you can harvest, and eat their fruit. This gives you energy. When the fruit falls, if it goes on to someone else's lawn, it’s still yours. • The second law will be: If you need a witness in court and they refuse, you can go and stand in front of their house and shout out how they are refusing to do their duty as a citizen. You can do this once every three days. This will be incorporated because if you are giving a speech, you can choose some one from the audience that you befriended, and yell at them.
Overview • Once you do defeat King Bombardus, you take over his place, and the Roman Forum lives on. Once this happens, you can restart the game and start over again. • But if you fail, the game is over and you start all over again, no matter how close you were to completing the entire game. • The age group is 8 years and up, because of the violence and difficult concepts.
