What Parents Can Do To Help • Monitor the time your child spends on the computer • Educate your child on internet safety • Only have one computer in a common room of the home • Set privacy settings and passwords • Stay informed about social networking sites • Set rules or guidelines regarding computer use

What Educators Can do to Help • Educate your students • Educate parents of students • Have your students sign an internet safety contract that you will keep on file in the classroom • Make sure students stay on task while in the classroom • Use security software and passwords on all computers in the school • Block social networking sites • Keep faculty and staff up to date on new technological information through workshops
