Friends of the Committee (FOC) Role – “the basics” • Can observe INCITS L1 meetings • May receive copies of meeting notices, agendas and other public information • May receive copies of national drafts at Milestone 4, ANSI 45-day public review, only at no cost • Shall Not serve on US Delegations to ISO TC211 Plenary or associated meetings or hold any officer position • Shall Not vote on TC matters (formal or informal voting), at any time.
How does one become a “Friend” • Technical Committees or their subgroups wishing to identify and external organization as a FOC shall do so by a valid committee motion, recorded in the meeting minutes, and shall notify the INCITS Secretariat of any such action. • Each party or can FGDC provide a list of contacts that petitions L1 for FOC status- VERIFY WITH RICK
