U.S. Dept of State ITAC-T Advisory Committee, SG-A AdHoc Meeting on ENUM, Washington DC, 28 Mar 2001 ENUM Association Attributes • A government sponsored industry association appears necessary • Major antitrust and liability considerations • Intergovernmental considerations • The association would support the collaborative arrangements necessary to instantiate in designated zone e164.foo, representations of numbers assigned within the national numbering plans of Country Code 1 • Develop and agree on provisioning architectures, trust models, and their implementation • Provide through contractual arrangements for minimal essential services in a provisioning architecture • work with all related bodies and providers to support trusted, competitive ENUM services • No existing forum likely to be broadly acceptable • Would be modeled after creation of ARIN, NECA, and ECSA VeriSign-Telcordia
