Jesus saith unto his mother, “Woman, behold thy son!” The saith he to the disciple “behold thy mother.” Jn. 19:26,27 Jesus said unto him…,”Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” Lu.23:43 BUT THE OTHER answering rebuked him, saying…, ”Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” Lu 23:40-42 ONE OF THE MALEFACTORS railed on him, saying, “If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.” Lu 23:39 The Sixth Hour XII During this time Jesus went to the tormenting place THE SOLDIERS also mocked him, saying, “If thou be the King of the Jews, save thyself.” Luke 23:39 Jesus cried, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Mt. 27:16 THE CHIEF PRIESTS mocking him said, “he saved others; himself he cannot save Mk. 15:31. “I Thirst.” Jn. 19:28 “It is finished.” Jn. 19:30 THEY THAT PASSED BY reviled him saying… ”if thou be the son of God, come down from the cross.” Mt. 27:39,40 “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.” Lk. 23:46 III The Ninth Hour THE SOLDIERS parted his garments, casting lots upon them.   6. The final hours of Jesus on the Cross • 9 am - “The Third Hour” –Jesus is crucified on the Cross Mar 15:25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. Luk 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. • The soldiers cast lots for Jesus’ clothing – Mark 15;24

  7. 10 am Jesus is insulted and Mocked • Mat 27:39-43 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, • Mat 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. • Mar 15:29-32 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, Save thyself, and come down from the cross.Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save. Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him. • Luk 23:35-39 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, • He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God. And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself. And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

  8. 11 am - Jesus and the Criminal • Luk 23:40-43 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. • Jesus speaks to Mary and John • John 19:26 - 27 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

  9. Noon – “The sixth Hour”Darkness covers the land Mar 15:33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. This is the time when Jesus was in the tormenting place, in my place. • 1 pm - Jesus cries out to the father Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? • Jesus is thirsty Joh 19:28-29 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

  10. 2 pm - It is finished John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: Luk 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

  12. While on the Cross of Calvary “For he hath made him to be Sin for us, who knew no Sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. (2 Cor 5:21). SIN “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:” (Gal 3:13) Between the sixth and the ninth hour Jesus descended into the Sheol the terminus for a sinner waiting for the Judgment Day Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Heb. 5:7
