  1. Happy Easter Mini-Gunz! I hope you’re enjoying the spring and the recent Gunfighter Family Day. I know your parents are looking forward to hearing about your Easter Egg Hunt stories. But more importantly, your deployed Gunfighter Dad or Mom can’t wait to see the ‘Welcome Home’ banners that you all made at the Family Day.  It’s getting very close to your Mother or Father’s return. Some of them will be home by the end of the month. I know it’s difficult to wait, especially when you’re so excited. Just remember to stay busy and active. That will help the time go by faster.  Your Gunfighter Mothers and Fathers are doing a great job out here in Iraq even though they miss you a lot. Their job out here is very important to the success of the Squadron, the Marine Corps and our great country. You can all be very proud of your parents; both those who deployed and those who took such great care of you at home.   The Mini-Gunz are very important to everybody out here and we know you help out a lot at home. Craft page Bunny and Chick Easter Craft for KidsYou will enjoy making these paper cup Easter treat holders so much they may want to make one for each guest at your table!You'll Need:Yellow or white paper cupsconstruction paper; pink or orange2 (20mm) plastic eyes per cuppink and white paper or craft foam for bunnyyellow craft feathers for chickscissors, glue, staplerHow to Make the Easter Chick:From the construction paper, cut an orange triangle for the beak and a heart for the feet. Staple few feathers to the back, inside edge of the cup.You'll want them sticking out from the top of the cup. Now glue the beak and the eyesto the front of the cup. Glue the base of the cup to the heart so that the edges stick out in front to create feet.How to Make the Easter Bunny:From the paper, cut two white ovals, two smaller pink ovals, a small circle nose and small strips for whiskers.Glue the ears to the inside back edge of the cup. Then glue the wiggle eyes, whiskers and nose to the front. Glue the base of the cup to the heart so that the edges stick out in front to create feet. Fill your new Easter friends with grass and fill with treats!

  4. Easter Egg Coloring for Kids - Easter Egg Decorating Ideas Everything you need to know to make artistic, traditional and even silly Easter eggs. Preparing your Easter eggs for dyeing...Before decorating your eggs, you need to hard-boil them. Place the eggs in a large saucepan. Add cold water; enough to completely cover the eggs. Place on medium-high heat and bring water to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and simmer eggs for 9 minutes. Remove from heat and fill with cold water. The eggs must be completely cool and dry, to decorate successfully.ways to decorate your Easter Eggs1. A Kit...When we were young, the basic PAAS Easter egg kit was the only way to go. Now you can purchase many different kits with stickers, holders etc.2. Make your own food color dye.Combine 1/2 to 1 Tablespoon of food coloring with 2 tsp. vinegar in a cup that is deep enough for the eggs. Add water to about the half way point. Gently place the eggs into the cups. I use a soup spoon to place my eggs in the cups, to avoid cracking. The longer they are left in the dye, the darker the color shade. Experiment with different combinations of colors When you remove the egg from the dye, pat dry with a paper towel and place in a holder.3. Crayon Resist Easter EggsColor on the Easter eggs before placing in the dye.Simple Dots, lines shapes swirls...The wax will resist the dye and your picture will show through. If you are dying Easter eggs with little ones and do not want to use dye...The children can simply color the eggs with crayons and leave it at that.4. Rubber Band Designswrap elastic bands around hard cooked eggs, then drop them in food-coloring dye. Remove eggs, pat dry with paper towel and remove rubber bands. The parts of the egg covered with rubber bands will not be colored. Once the rubber bands are removed, you can drop the egg into a different color dye.  5. Marbled EggsIn a mug or jar large enough to contain one egg, place 1 Tablespoon of oil, 1 Tablespoon of vinegar and 1 Tablespoon of food coloring. Add enough water to cover egg, stir quickly with a spoon and drop in hard boiled egg. Pull egg out quickly and pat dry with paper towel. 

  5. For each Pine Cone Bird Feeder you will need: Tie a few feet of string to a pine cone. Cover the pine cone with the mixture below. Roll the pinecone in birdseed and then suspend it from a tree branch outside. Food mixture: Mix 1/2 cup vegetable shortening, lard or suet with 2 1/2 cups cornmeal or uncooked oats until well blended. Optional: add dried fruit (chopped up), chopped nuts, seeds (especially sunflower and millet), and/or suet, which are high-energy bird foods.

Cooking with the Mini Gunz No Bake Peanut Butter Balls 1/2 cup peanut butter1/2 cup honey1 cup crushed corn flakes cereal2 tablespoons powdered milkSet corn flakes aside. Mix all other ingredients well.Roll into balls.Then roll again in Cornflakes until covered.Refrigerate leftovers!!Yummy Snack! Great with milk ! Waffle Sandwich This is so easy you will want to make your own breakfasts and snacks. You can even experiment to create your own signature sandwich!Ingredients:Two waffles - frozen or homemadePeanut butterJellyOptional ingredients: marshmallow spread, bananas, chocolate chips, honey, dried fruit...Spread peanut butter on one waffle, jelly on the otherand make a sandwich -- it's that easy!
