The Police and Crime Plan for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
Priorities - Service • Provide a general service that is recognised as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ Target: 75% of respondents feel that the police are doing a ‘good job’ in their area • Provide a good quality of service and response to victims of crime and anti-social behaviour Expectation: 85% of all users satisfied with the service
Priorities - Crime • Reduce crime overall Target: 5% reduction • Reduce domestic burglary Target: 10% reduction • Reduce commercial burglary Target: 12% reduction • Reduce vehicle crime Target: 14% reduction in theft from vehicles Target: 12% reduction in theft of vehicles
Opportunities, initiatives and aspirations • We will seek opportunities to reduce running costs and find new ways to make our communities safer through innovation, creativity and the development of aspirational ideas. Estate Management • Review of Front Enquiry Offices • New channels of communication will be developed
…cont’d Linking with the Voluntary Sector • The Force will build on its relationships with the organisations such as Neighbourhood Watch and will capitalise on its own police volunteers in order to reap the maximum benefits from their excellent work Maximising Officers on Front Line Duties • The time that officers are employed on ‘front line’ duties will be maximised wherever possible. • In the first year at least, PCSO numbers will be maintained. • The number of Special police officers will increase from 300 to 400 by 2016
Commissioning Opportunities Four Themes or Functional Clusters fall out of the Plan: • 1. Reducing Crime & Supporting Victims • 2. Communities & Neighbourhoods • 3. Mental Health & Vulnerability • 4. Offending & Re-offending • Collaborative Commissioning Framework designed to deliver shared outcomes with partners, building on existing projects and developing new ones working with all sectors
