  2. Rule 1 • Never Give Out Personal Information Online For Example: name hangout address school

  3. Rule 2 • Do Not Use Your Real Name, Age or Hometown in Your Screen Name Why? People can search to find out more about you than you think

  4. Rule 3 • Keep Your Password to Yourself Do You Know? Giving out your password is like handing someone the key to your house. Anyone can come in and go through your stuff.

  5. Rule 4 • Read rules and privacy options for websites • Check to see if you can restrict unregistered viewers from reading your posts or chats

  6. Rule 5 • Only Share Information Online That You Do Not Mind Sharing You never know who if someone has their on you! If you want to share your private information, do not post it online.

  7. Rule 6 • What You Post Online, Stays Online Sites with older information can still exist for anyone to tap into, so IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU SHOULD SAY SOMETHING-----BE SURE AND KEEP IT TO YOURSELF

  8. Rule 7 • Keep Photos of You or Your Friends Offline Stop and think! You are letting anyone know exactly what you look like. Withoutyour permission, people can change alter your photo and send to others!

  9. Rule 8 • If You Are Unsure Who the Sender Is --- Do Not Download! Why? Reasons; • Viruses What to Do: • Messy Applications Set your computer • Out of control E-mail preferences to warn you

  10. Rule 9 • Beware of Online Friendships: Keep Them Online Everyone uses the internet, including bad guys. So play it safe and do not agree to meet with anyone. Instead, tell an adult!

  11. Rule 10 • If Someone Online Makes You Feel Uncomfortable— Tell An Adult Ask a parent or teacher or someone you trust to help you report the incident to the website or the police.
