This program aims to strengthen TVET collaboration between Southeast Asia and China, offering various activities such as student exchange, joint research, and dual-degree programs. Participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and more will engage in collaborative initiatives.

BACKGROUND • Since 2016, suggested by the High Officials Meetings on SEA-TVET to expand collaboration of TVET institutions in SEA with other countries beyond Southeast Asia. • SEA-China Collaboration established through SEAMEO with Asian-China Centre and local Chinese governments as a part of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW). • Since 2017, approx. 240 Frameworks of Cooperation/ Letters of Agreement/ MOUs between Chinese and SEA-TVET institutions were signed at the SEAMEO-China Meeting.
OBJECTIVES of SEAMEO-China WS • Strengthen and sustain collaboration between Southeast Asian region and China • Provide capacity development for TVET leaders, teachers and students through the collaborations between SEA and China • Set up partnership agreements which can start the implementation in September 2019 onwards • Develop a group of model TVET institutions of best practices for cross-country partnership development
