Symptom’s • Single palm crease. (Simian Crease)
Symptom’s • Flattened nose and face. • Upward eyes.
Symptom’s • First and second toe widely seperated.
Symptom’s Pelvic bone is shaped wider then normal.
Karyotype • Caused by an extra chromosome in the 21st pair
Treatment • No cure or treatment is currently availible.
Testing • Prenatal testing • Test is called a karyotype
Occurrence • 1 in 900. • Most common genetic reason for mental retardation. • The older the mother the greater chance.
Inheritance • Results from faulty gamete cell division.
