  2. The Emmett till case!! • In 1955, a 14-year-old African American teenager was brutally murdered by white men while visiting relatives in Mississippi. His name was Emmett Till. His murder and the subsequent trial of his accused killers became a lightning rod for moral outrage, both at the time and to this day. The case was not just about the murder of a teenage boy

  3. The Emmett till murder inspired the civil rights movement

  4. Blacks started the quest for black equality Discrimination is a hellhound that gnaws at Negroes in every waking moment of their lives to remind them that the lie of their inferiority is accepted as truth in the society dominating them.

  5. African Americans helped change the community

  6. It was the first media event of the civil rights movement
