Components Purchased for Alabama • Student Information System • Learning Management System through Unified Classroom • Centralized Operational Data Store (ODS) • Enhanced Special Programs Solution • Enhanced PD tracking via PowerSchool’s integrated Unified Talent platform • Enhanced analysis and reporting through PowerSchool Performance Matters Analytics
Training • The PowerSchool platform will impact all aspects of the educational process • Comprehensive and effective training will be critical to successful implementation • Approximately 500 days of training, occurring over the course of the next year, were included in the Statement of Work • The Training schedule for the first component to be rolled out, Professional Learning, is found on the following slide:
Student Information System • The SIS is the landing page for all data entry • All components of PowerSchool are accessed via a single sign-on through the SIS • Information developed in other components of the PowerSchool platform can be analyzed and consolidated in the SIS • Information is accessible through easy-to-use dashboards • The SIS has a data auditing feature that tracks changes to enrollment, lunch status, transportation, course enrollment, student contacts, demographics, attendance, CTE, permissions, discipline, historical grades and state reports, etc.
Learning Management System through Unified Classroom • Work done in the LMS writes over into the gradebook reducing administrative time for teachers. Those tasks include: • Creating a class • Setting up your roster • Adding activities • Tracking student progress and • The LMS allows management of assignments, tracking of homework by students and parents, and creation of engaging multi-media rich lessons that can be shared with colleagues • The parent portal in the LMS has an immersive reader function that allows the parent to choose the language utilized
Centralized Operational Data Store (ODS) • Brings together state data from multiple sources into a single, online reporting portal • Minimizes duplication of effort and multiple instances of the same data • Will allow students to immediately move from one system to another and have all records (to include spec ed) follow them • Enterprise Reporting provides identical reporting functionality at the LEA and school level
Enhanced Special Programs Solution • Will allow electronic updating for Spec ED student data • In addition, will allow electronic updating of 504, EL, and RTI student data. • All updates can be done utilizing talk-to-text, which will facilitate more consistent and smoother flowing IEP meetings • During student transfers, SPS will issue alerts to both sending and receiving LEAs (Documents transfer securely to receiving Special Programs Database)
