Current activities • Things to be done a.s.a.p. • Shopping list
FMI current activities • fix known bugs in the current www-system. No new features will be made before stable version exists. • better overview of submission process: immediate information to the user • remove uploaded files after successful submissions • implement euvdb 1 0 symbol tables • check that euvdb-users@uv.fmi.fi posting list contains all users • create user-support@uv.fmi.fi e-mail address.
create Oracle tables for ancillary data • check the treatment of end-of-line characters (Richard Kift report) • possibly: automatic conversion DOS->unix • how shall the missing data will be written to the output file • Headers • data lines • Decided: NULL • change the minimal requirement • spectral_irradiance_uncorrected -> spectral_irradiance • decide the date (1.10.2001?) • inform users • remove suvdama symbol tables • copy old data from spectral_irradiance_uncorrected to spectral_irradiance (workgroup: Jussi, Niilo, Brian, Peter, Tim)
things to be solved a.s.a.p • develop administrative tools: • remover for Oracle data • automatize the program which counts the spectra in OD • etc. • not all Flexstor data are in ODB (Manchester et al) • the spectrum table is slow. Why? • Allocation of space insufficient from the very beginning? • A brute force solution would be to make a copy of the original table and use that (BAS) • Consult FMI Oracle experts.
flagging of database. Open questions: • how to skip old versions of data in Flexstor? (utilize the list created by the "duplicate-cleaner“ • how to deal with uncorrected vs. corrected spectra, which will be changed--------------------------------------------------------------
shopping list • user request: to have information about recent submissions, especially new versions of data. Ask FMI Oracle experts for possibilities in Oracle • user request: retrieve only header information (no spectral columns at all!). Might work already. • user request: to have control over the header lines in the output file • user request: write the number of header lines to the output file
