This workshop aims to educate Allied Health Professionals about the importance of spiritual care and their role in providing it. Through discussions, personal stories, and the development of a resource pack, participants will gain a deeper understanding of spiritual care matters.

Project Aim • To enable Allied Health professionals to develop an understanding and knowledge of the Spiritual Care Matters document and recognise their role in provision of spiritual care
Project Activity • Design and develop a ½ day workshop for AHP staff within NHS Borders, Fife, Forth Valley and Lothian • Facilitated by Healthcare Chaplains and AHP practice Education Facilitators • Workshop • Introduction to Spiritual Care Matters document • Sharing of patient and staff stories • Identification of support mechanisms
Project Outcomes • Development of a resource pack which could then be shared across other staff groups and regions to further cascade Spiritual Care Awareness • Evaluation • Spiritual care matters to me ……….. • All participants were asked to identify actions to raise awareness of spiritual care within their workplace • Three month follow up of participants to follow up action plans • A full evaluation report to be written
Workshop 1 • Delivery of some elements from the full workshop • Attendees will have the opportunity to • Hear personal stories from participants • Discuss key issues relating to spiritual care for patients, carers and staff
Workshop 2 • Analysis of feedback from participants • Opportunity to look at the resource pack and discuss • Content of the resource pack • Future use of the resource pack
