Introduction • If athletes are hurt or don't make the pros they don't have anything to fall back on. • These young men make lots of money for their schools, but don't get anything in return. • College athletes aren't allowed to sell their own merchandise without getting in trouble. • All of these great athletes are spending hours on the field, but not at their studies. • By Grant Garvey
College sports generate millions of dollars, not a penny of which goes to the players • Every team that makes it to the NCAA Division I basketball tournament makes $222,206. • The BCS championship game, generates millions of dollars every year. • Nick Saban the coach for Alabama made 4.2 million dollars for signing a three year contract with his team • By Collin Rissolo
Individual college athletes are being short changed • Big universities are making money off of player's merchandise. • If a player were to sell their jersey, they would get suspended for several games. • By Tyler Finley
Academics vs. Athletics • Good sports school do not give the best educations to their athletes. • If the college athletes do not get drafted or get hurt, they will not have any money and they wouldn't have a good education. • If college athletes are paid in college then they will have some money to fall back on. • By Kyle Scheetz
