City of Marshall - Council MeetingRules of Conduct Welcome to the City of Marshall City Council meeting. The Mayor and City Council value public input and request that you respect the following Rules of Conduct while attending today’s meeting. The Rules of Conduct are intended to insure an open and civic discourse for our meeting and to address issues in an orderly and professional manner. School Internet Login: tiger School Internet Password: guest The general public shall have the opportunity to address the Council on any agenda item within the Public Hearing section of the agenda. Upon being requested, all persons who are recognized to speak by the Mayor should approach the front podium and state his/her name, address and interest on the subject. Please try to be succinct related to your comments. The Mayor may choose to allow others to address the Council during other agenda items. Persons who desire to speak should do so only after being recognized by the Mayor. You may indicate your interest to speak with the City Administrator prior to the meeting. If, during the meeting, you wish to address the Council please raise your hand and the Mayor may choose to allow you or others to address the Council. Upon being requested, all persons who are recognized to speak by the Mayor should approach the front podium and state his/her name, address, and interest in the subject. Address all statements and questions to the “Mayor and City Councilmember's.” Please try to be succinct related to your comments. The mayor will then refer any questions that are appropriate to be answered to the proper councilmember or staff person. Persons not recognized by the Mayor should refrain from speaking. Persons in attendance at the meeting should refrain from loud discussions among themselves, clapping, whistling or any other actions, which might be distracting to either the City Council or a speaker. This includes the usage of cell phones or other conversations which may be conducted outside the meeting room. Profanity, threats and other disorderly conduct will not be tolerated and will result in your removal from the meeting. Persons/organizations wishing to address the City Council on a topic not on the agenda shall contact the City Administrator for review and direction related to their issue. If you have questions during the Council meeting please see Tom Meulebroeck, Finance Director/City Clerk who sits in the front left area of the audience sitting area. Public Meetings of the City Council are of great importance to both the City Council and citizens. Your personal cooperation to these Rules of Conduct will be measurable assistance to the City Council as they listen to your comments and others during the decision-making process.
