2. LIBYA AsSalaam’o-Alaikum! Which means hello in Arabic the official language of Libya. Libya here is amazing, we meet new people , we learn a lot about their way of culture , and how they LIVE . Libya is way different from what we could expect . Its fun living in Libya , there’s always things to do and never EVER get bored . In Libya people are so nice and very Religious . LIBYA IS A HOME OF HUMBLE PEOPLE AND THEIR CUSTOMS .

4. CULTURE Libya’s culture is so interesting !!!! Most Libyans are Muslim and very little Shia – Muslims . I hardly see any Christianity or Jews or any other religions . Libyans religion does affect their clothing because in Islam , your suppose to be covered head to toe . When we talked to people in Libya a lot of them spoke in Arabic . Well good thing I bought my Arabic translation book or we wouldn’t be able to order anything to EAT ( loll ) . When we made new Libyan friends they told us how colonialism influence their language . Our friend who’s name was Ailey meaning ( to rise) . She told us that Italy is the one who colonize Libya . Italy conquered Libya during the 1900’s before Libya was a ottoman empire . During

5. Most part of 1800’s Italy was not a state . Its true that after Hannibal Libya was mongered by the romans . But they spoke Latin . A roman empire named septimius Severus was from Libya . That was interesting to know that . Sense we were in Libya we seen a lot of where they live affect their culture . The Libya was controlled and governed by the dictator named Khadafy . In his rule of government , he could control anything or EVERY THING . For example education , religion and wealth . Because of this depression Libyan people cannot practice religion because of the problem that Khadafy creates . Khadafy freely does not distribute any wealth on the poor people of Libya , not even for once . Threes not to Manu schools for children , college universities . Woes are the biggest victims of this suppression . Such as they cannot

6. get the good education to succeed in their life as good as men . They are always in their home “ HOUSEWIVES “ as a result of this unjust rule . Not many Libyans are influent part of todays Libya . The Libya government destroyed the fabric of Libyan people . UNEDUACATED WOMEN

8. Libyan food is delicious !!!!!!! When we go to restaurants or friends place we see them cook . Every single dish is cooked with olive oil , Olive oil is the heart of Libyan food’s. There is no dish with out Olive oil . We always see Libyans eating with their right hand using their fingers to eat than a fork or spoon . Libyans always beloved that one must eat well . But the most important thing that Libyans MUST do is pray . So what they say in prayers is ( bis – milla – ar – rakh – mon – nair- ra – heem . ) . Which means “ IN THE NAME OF ALLAH , THE MOST BENEFICENT AND THE MERCIFUL . Libyans most favorite number one dish is rishdat kaska. LIBYA LIBYA

10. Libyan griots has religious scholars named in Libyan language Rabitah – al – ulema and they maintain traditions of history in west Africa . They are the league of ulema ,the most traditional senior scholars. They were the first to come out in public and be against GHADAFFI . It has grown and expanded from origins as an informal network of Muslim scholars . They emerge during early days of Libyan revolution . The network of free ulema . LIBYAN GRIOTS

11. in Libya we see a lot of sports / art music and some are common sports like judo , boxing , and the most best sport in whole Libya is BULLFIGHTING . We seen lots of bullfights in Libya and they never end . Libya has popular water sports like skiing , diving and of course swimming .Libya's music are mostly religious and most of these instruments are in the music like flutes , bamboo , bells , drums and horns . Most songs tells stories too . Libyans don’t really dance because of their religion and plus most of their music are not like dancing mode , so not many Libyans dance . 12. Libya geography Features in Libya that we saw was Sudan is situated in the northern part of Libya in the Zawia district along the Mediterranean coast . Its home is approximately 31,000 inhabitants . The region enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate . More temperate climate than the interiors of the country . The impact of the deserts keeps the climate dry and very hot summers and pleasant winter rainfall is minimal . But still we love the weather here . Map of Libya

13. The relative location we saw on the map is Libya is in the Maghreb region of North Africa bordered by the Mediterranean sea and to the north . Egypt to east Sudan to southeast . Chad and Niger to south . Algeria and Tunisia to west . The climate in Libya is the Mediterranean and desert affects Libya's climate . Winter is cool with rain on the coast and in the drier desert temperature can drop to sub freezing at night . But normally dry and humid . Libya hot dry desert

14. HEALTH ISSUES In Libya we seen lots of health problems and there really bad . There are very few doctors in LIBYA than any other country .The life expectancy is increasing almost to the European levels . HIV and AIDS are high risk in the country . Most Libyans are suffering from severe ailments of cancer , kidney failure , pediatric surgery and heart failure . LIBYA has shortages for medication . Little girl getting cared by doctors

15. Affects on colonialism colonialism Libya natural resources is Natural gas , fruits , grains , and cattle . Libya exports two-thirds of its food . Italy ruled Libya because they wanted to control Tripoli to give greater shipping power in the Mediterranean sea . Italy wanted to be the face of North Africa . But they were afraid that the French would take over . This is direct because Italy invaded Libya . Libya gained independence on December , 24 , 1951. Libya worked hard to gain independence and its all thanks to Omar - al – Mukhtar . He was the leader of the group named musarbeen and he fought with half of the Italian’s then later on the turks joined a fought with the Italians . The fight continued for 1 year and Italy lost the battle . But unfortunately Omar – al – Mukhtar was taken with the Italians and got hanged . 16. About the current Government , The government controls most of the economic activities and television and media . For the voting counting has begun as polls closed across Libya and many victims taking to the streets to celebrate even though results are many not to be announce for a few days . Voters streamed into pulling stations in Tripoli and across Libya on Saturday hoping the country’s first multiplying elections in 60 years marked the start of a new era in some parts of the capital . So basically the government just controls himself on being a good leader and the people picks their votes , so same as the United states way .

17. Current events What is happening in Libya right now is Christians are being beaten up . They are accused ob being proselytism . The Libyan ambassador is arrested after his house was besieged . Weapons are sent to Libyan rebels with the US approval that went to Islamic extremist . Obama administration secretly encouraged Qatar to send arm shipments to kill the president.
