CSA08 Electron: Tag & Probe Updates Jeffrey Berryhill Kalanand Mishra Fermilab Update on tag-probe efficiency with CSA08 data
A quick overview on Tag & Probe selection Tag Selection Probe Selection • Input: GsfElectrons. • In ECAL: || < 2.5 & pT < 20 GeV/c. • Track isolation. • Electron ID: Loose selection • Input: SuperClusters. • In ECAL: || < 2.5 & pT < 15 GeV/c. • Fit the tag-probe invariant mass to get the number of signal events. Obtain factorized efficiencies for passing probes: SuperCluster GsfElectron Isolation HLT Kalanand Mishra, Fermilab
Progress this week • Last week we reproduced Nikos’ results, and in the process found some technical problems: - inclusion of HLT information: now solved - need to produce factorized efficiency, not cumulative : now done (see next two slides) • After Nikos’ bug fix in his electron “duplicate-removal” code, our efficiency numbers match pretty well. • Some additional features to our tag-and-probe package: now efficiency can be calculated in two dimensional bins of kinematic variables, e.g., “, ” or “pT, ” or “px , py” etc. Kalanand Mishra, Fermilab
Efficiency: Probe SC GsfElectron SuperCluster GsfElectron Isolation HLT pT These numbers match with those from Nikos’ pretty well. Kalanand Mishra, Fermilab
Efficiency:GsfElectron Isolation HLt SuperCluster GsfElectron Isolation HLT pT Seems like a pathological fit, need to look into the MINUIT fit results SC GsfElectron Isolation HLT Kalanand Mishra, Fermilab
Status & Summary • Previous week’s technical problems solved, some additional features added to the package. • Ready to take up David’s challenge. • Tag-and-probe package available via MuonAnalysis/TagAndProbeHead • Discussed the code organization in a previous presentation in this forum. Thank You ! Kalanand Mishra, Fermilab
