Legislative Action • 2009 law established Mass Transit Utility Corridor
Partners • Private, public, non-profit organizations • Provide a coordinated vision for transportation and energy infrastructure development • Develop a showcase model for sustainable transportation and energy practices
Goals • Successfully involve the community on initiatives and benefits that are being achieved in the corridor • Achieve 50% higher levels of energy efficiency savings than established in the state goals • Achieve 9.5 GWh of renewable energy supplied or generated within the corridor
Benefits • Reduced carbon emissions • Local jobs • Renewable energy produced within our state • Lower overall energy costs • Develop model we can replicate throughout the state
Initiatives • Residential “Quick Fix” and renewable energy programs from utilities • Progressive transportation programs • Energy distribution technologies • Solar energy on large buildings
