Wardrobe • Wear something different than you did on the first interview. • If someone wears the same thing on a second interview, they probably don’t have a sufficient wardrobe and will usually wear unprofessional clothing once they start work.
Be Prepared • When you are asked to come in for a second interview, ask who you will be interviewing with and what their title is. • You will probably be interviewing with several people who will ask you similar questions. • Keep your answers consistent, but not stale or staged.
Prove Yourself • Explain your abilities and experiences that make you a good fit for the company. • Do your homework between the first and second interview. • Offer concrete examples that highlight your career, competence and compatibility.
Getting an Offer • Sometimes interviewers will ask, “If we made an offer today, what would your decision be?” • Feel free to accept on the spot if you are sure. • It is appropriate to ask for the night to think it over. • Do not say you need a week to decide. You have probably had at least a week between the first and second interview. • If you don’t get an offer on the spot, be sure to send thank you cards to all the interviewers.
