Graduation Information Minimum Graduation Requirements for Standard HS Diploma • Earn 24 credits • Passing score on the 10th grade FSA Reading • Passing score on Algebra 1 EOC • A cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher • Online course
English 4 credits • ELA I, II, III, & IV • ELA honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and dual enrollment courses may satisfy this requirement
Social Studies Must earn the following credits: • World History (1 credit) • American History (1 credit) (EOC 30% of grade) • U.S. Government (.5 credit) • Economics with Financial Literacy (.5 credit). Dual enrollment Economic classes do not have the financial Literacy component; The fin. lit requirement must be completed on-line in order to satisfy the grad requirement.
Math • Mathematics – 4 credits to include • Algebra 1 (must pass EOC for grad requirement and it is 30% of grade) • Geometry (EOC 30% of grade) • 2 additional Math Courses
Science • Science – 3 credits to include • Biology 1 (must take Biology EOC for 30% of grade) • 2 Equally Rigorous Science courses with lab component Forensics is not a science or an EQ (equally rigorous) class. This course is considered an elective.
HOPE (1/2 PE & 1/2 Health) • ROTC for 2 years will waive the HOPE and Fine Arts requirements • Can take online (recommend taking summer Before 9th) • This meets online graduation requirement (must complete segment 1 and 2 for this)
Practical/Performing Fine ArtMust earn 1.0 Credit. • 1 credit in Fine or Performing Arts, Speech and Debate, or Practical Arts • Practical Arts include many of our first year computer classes and TV production. • ROTC for 2 years will waive this requirement
Earn An Additional 8 Elective Credits Foreign Language • None required for graduation • Acceptable to wait until 10th to start Foreign Lang • Should take 2 or 3 years for acceptance into most 4 year Universities • Must take 2 years of same Foreign Language for Bright Futures Scholarship • Should take if going to Valencia because students will be required to take Foreign Lang courses
Graduation On-Line Requirement • Online class (if it is a full credit class, you must take the whole course– half credit classes count for this requirement). • Ideas: Driver’s Ed, Social Media, Personal finance, Parenting. • OCVS classes through FLVS.net – OC teachers • Blended American gov’t class senior year can be used as online requirement.
Scholar Diploma Designation • Algebra II • Statistics or Equally rigorous math • Chemistry or Physics • 1 credit in Equally rigorous to chemistry or physics • 2 credits in same world language • Earn 1 credit in AP, IB, AICE or Dual Enrollment course. • Pass Biology EOC • Pass Geometry EOC • Pass U.S. History EOC A student is exempt from the Biology or US History EOC if student is enrolled in an AP, IB or AICE Bio or history and takes the AP, IB or AICE assessment and earns min score for college credit
Merit Diploma Designation • Meet the standard HS diploma requirements • Attain one or more industry certifications • Autodesk • Adobe • Microsoft office specialist • JavaScript • Vet Assisting • CIW Network Tech Associate

VALENCIA College Dual ENROLLMENT • Dual enrollment parent night is Tues, Feb 27th 6PM in the Timber Creek (PAC) • Must have a cumulative 3.0 unweighted GPA at time of application • Must have Test scores as listed on the VC DE Site • Can take VC classes on TCHS campus or at Valencia’s campus • Application deadline to apply for Fall of 2018 is this Friday, April 6th, 2018 • Assessment deadline is Friday, April 20th, 2018 http://valenciacollege.edu/dual/public-school.cfm
University of Florida (UF) Dual ENROLLMENTUF Dual Enrollment parent night is Thurs, March 15th 6PM in the Timber Creek (PAC). Student eligibility requirements: • Be enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a public, private, charter, or homeschool. • Maintain a 3.5 unweighted • Have passing Assessment scores • 100% On-Line • SAT – with a 1490 composite score. • New SAT – with a 1000 composite score. • ACT – with a 21 composite score. • PSAT – with a 142 composite score. • New PSAT – with a 1030 composite score For more information visit: http://dualenrollment.dce.ufl.edu/faq/
University Of Central Florida Dual Enrollment (UCF) • For eligibility criteria, please refer to Undergraduate Admissions. • Dual Enrollment (DE) students may take a maximum of 6 college credit hours each semester while concurrently enrolled at the high school. These students may be junior or senior status in high school. • Early Admission (EA) students must take a minimum of 12 college credit hours each semester at UCF. These students are seniors in high school. Early Admission students may take a maximum of 15 college credit hours. The deadlines to apply for admission are: • March 1 for Summer • May 1 for Fall • November 1 for Spring • Be classified as at least a high school junior for dual enrollment or a high school senior for early admission by the time of enrollment • Have at least a 3.8 high school GPA based upon our calculation of academic core classes only • Present SAT or ACT scores of at least: • Old SAT (test administered prior to Feb. 2016): 1200 (Critical Reading + Math) • Redesigned SAT (test administered March 2016 and beyond): 1270 (Evidenced-based Reading and Writing + Math) • ACT: 26 (composite)

Raise.me scholarships • Students can earn micro-scholarship dollars as early as the 9th grade for doing such things as getting good grades, attending a college fair, having perfect attendance, taking the PSAT, etc. • Currently 255 colleges offer micro-scholarships through Raise.me • Students can access Raise.me through their Family Connection page on Naviance.
