AWARDS! Recognizing and honouring an individual or an organization for one of the following: • Outstanding Research in the area of Down syndrome Awards also for:2. Outstanding effort for the cause of Down syndrome3. Outstanding Self advocacy- for people with Down syndrome (Criteria will be reviewed in the coming months and may change. Keep an eye on the website).
HOW TO APPLY? • Full guidelines on the DSFI website…. • 1. A candidate may not nominate himself or herself or his/her organization.2. Recipients can receive an award in only one category.3. Decision of the Awards Committee is Final4. Activities of recipients must have a national or international impact.5. No posthumous awards will be given.6. No member or staff of DSFI is eligible for an award during his or her term of office.7. Individuals may not be considered if they have received an award within the last 10 years.8. Photograph of nominee is a must with the form during nomination9. Incomplete nominations will not considered by the Awards Committee.
Three candidates from the Asia-Pacific region and three from India will have the opportunity to apply. • Each winner receives Rs100,000, courtesy of the Babli Foundation
A note on funding clever….. • Is your project Unique? • Collaboration (Sharing common goals and giving the funder a bigger bang for their buck, reduce administration, many hands make light work, likelihood of success greater with a major funder) • Sustainability (Look at the future, not the immediate future) • Be prepared to put in the hard work!
