Planned Structure of FP7 • I. Stimulating Competition: Stimulating competition between individual research teams within Europe, particularly in fundamental research, in order to improve the quality and profile of European research; • II.Human Resources(Marie Curie): Developing human resources with a view to creating scientific careers in Europe through increased funding for training and mobility at European level; • III. Research Infrastructures: Strengthening research infrastructures by co-financing the creation and development of infrastructures of benefit to Europe;
IV.Technology Platforms:Launching European-level technology programmes to implement common research agendas as defined by “technology platforms”, which support European industrial policy in sectors such as aviation, energy, nanoelectronics, mobile telecommunications, and embedded systems; V.Collaborative Actions: Stimulating the development of European “poles of excellence” based on networking and collaboration at laboratory level in academia and in companies; VI.Co-ordination of National Programmes: Improving, through specific networking mechanisms, the co-ordination of national and regional research programmes and policies.
