Go or No Go ?? The problem • There are undoubtedly significant benefits to be obtained by leading and coordinating your own project and this should be attempted if possible. • However the majority of EU funding is in fact dispersed within and to the partners within each consortium - so the easiest way to obtain a significant research grant (typically in the hundreds of thousands of Euros) is to become a partner within the consortium of a project lead by another. The prize • Becoming a partner in another consortium involves a minimal amount of work, other than liaison and update with the coordinator and, when the application is successful, funding for your research element within the project. The catch • Your main problem is finding and identifying those who are preparing to submit a proposal in your area, so that you can seek to become a partner in their consortium. • Guidance Notes and Information on how to achieve this available on RIS Website
