Your task • Complete the reading listed on your reading plan for yesterday and today • Complete the packet pages that match the reading you’ve complete • Example: If I finish reading chapters 1-3, I should finish the pages in my journal that discuss chapters 1-3 • After you’ve completed the work independently: • Share your work with your group • What answers are the same, which are different? Why?

Evidence is defined as “evidence is what is advanced to support a claim.” Evidence is: • 1. Is intentional and purposeful • 2. related directly to the claim • 3. Can be understood by someone who has not read the book • Three Principles of Good Evidence: • 1. Relevant (relates directly to your claim) • 2. Verifiable (you can find it in the book) • 3. Representative (represents the book/theme as a whole) Good evidence!
