Continuing Education - New Initiative • Engaging Developer communities • Focus on Practicing Engineers - Engineers more focused on trivial technologies , hence not interested in our primary set of products and services including Explore , Conferences , Local meeting content and network etc • Opportunity is huge - this group of practicing engineers form the major part of engineering population in developing nations (eg - BRIC) • Need to identify gaps , create and engage developer communities . Start offering educational resources to developers in the form of local CE workshops , online webinars / tutorials , developer conferences etc • An example – more interest in DB Programming techniques compared to Database Indexing concepts . 11/21/10
Continuing Education - New Initiative • Engaging Developer communities - first step • Hyd GOLD hosted the first ever Drupal Camp Conference in Hyderabad on 11.11.11 • Drupal Co founder as Keynote Speaker • Drupal is the worlds largest CMS used by NSE , whitehouse.gov and many more • Conference gave us an opportunity to understand the needs of Drupal developers (practicing engineers) and gave us an opportunity to open up dialog with Drupal • Action item - follow up dialog and draft a basic strategy to engage developer communities 11/21/10
