  2. A Point of View: . People can view the same things from different perspectives. These perspectives are most often influenced by: • Age • Gender • Family • Culture • Ethnicity • Religion • Friends • Life experiences

A Point of View: . • NOW: • Create a table outlining: • 3 current and real issues (school, political, environmental, human…) • 5 influences on your point of view for each issue. • THEN: • Walk around the class and discuss your chosen issues. • Find out what other people think about the issue. • Find 2 people who agree with you. • Find 2 people who disagree with you. • REMEMBER: its OK to DISAGREE. • IDENTIFYING A POINT OF VIEW: • Identify the subject being discussed • Identify the speaker • What connection does the speaker have to the subject? • Identify which aspects of the subject are emphasized by the speaker • Identify which aspects of the subject are downplayed by the speaker • Practice Round… People can view the same things from different perspectives.
