What benefits can an active carers’ group provide?Benefits for carers • Genuine partnership with staff • Mutual support/sharing of common experience • Direct involvement with service • Greater ability to influence decisions on services • Ability to channel energies • Sharing of information • Friendly and welcoming environment • Greater understanding of mental illness/ability to spot “danger signs”
