Both hemispheres are involved in cognition and memory. The right hemisphere tends to remember the gist of an experience. The left hemisphere tends to remember the details. The left hemisphere can only pay attention to items on the right side of the visual field; the right hemisphere has a global spotlight. The Reality Return (Medina, 2008)
