GründerRegio M e.V. • Founded 1998: association to represent key players in supporting young Entrepreneurs • Over 30 members, from universities over Incubators, VC organisations and banks to the Chamber of Commerce, City of Munich and also young entrepreneurs • Projects PANEL, HOCHSPRUNG (support of Spin-offs from universities) and EFFEKT! (support of women entrepreneurs)

  4. Part of PAXIS (Pilot Action of Excellence on Innovative Start-ups) - 22 “Regions of Excellence” • Identification, evaluation, and benchmarking of support activities for Start-ups • Contact to political decision makers Providing Access and Networking of Entrepreneurial Links

  5. PANEL - Sofia • Transfer of Barcelona’s best practice “Dia de l’Emprenedor” as EDE in October 2003 • Associated Region to PANEL since February 2004 • Foundation of AASIE after model of GründerRegio M in April 2004 • Access to European best practice in start-up support through PANEL / PAXIS

  6. Bavaria – Bulgaria PAXIS Visiting Scheme Munich-Sofiaat Bavar. State Chancellery + Incubator gate • Visiting programme for political, scientific and economic key players between the regions of Munich and Sofia (Feb. 2004).

Bavaria – Bulgaria Brücke zum Osten – Bridge to the East (Feb. 2004) • Conference to foster co-operation between Bavarian and Bulgarian companies through the involvement of Bulgarian students on Bavarian universities (with approx. 3000 largest group of foreign students in Bavaria) • Information and talks about topics like market entry of Bavarian companies in Bulgaria, legal framework, ...

Bavaria – Bulgaria Visit of President Georgi Parvanov In co-operation with InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA, former BFIA), Schipka and AASIE at Incubator gate (Jul. 2004) • Event about job opportunities of Bulgarian students on Bavarian universities with President Georgi Parvanov with talks, discussion and presentation of Bulgarian companies

  9. Bavaria – Bulgaria High-Tech-Days Sofia by AASIE & GründerRegio M • Programme for political, scientific and economic key players to present successful model from the Bavarian High-Tech-Offensive in Bulgaria (May/June 2003 and Oct./Nov. 2004).

Future Plans on Sofia / Bulgaria • Mediation of information and contacts between Bavaria and Bulgaria in the fields of Economy and Entrepreneurship • Establishing of a permanent trainee exchange between Bavaria and Bulgaria • Implementation of an Incubator in the Region of Sofia with the help of Bavarian Expertise
