Australian Government Reviews • Australian Qualifications Framework Review • Whether micro-credentials and skill sets should be formally mapped to the AQF, • Whether the AQF is avenue for embedding so-called ‘social and enterprise skills’, • Whether and how the concept of ‘volume of learning’ could be expressed by the AQF, and • Whether and how to embed school qualifications. • VET Review • 71 recommendations around six areas

ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Agreement 2019-2028 • Skills Canberra is committed to respectful interaction with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to find ways our programs may be better utilised to: • maximise opportunities for employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people • support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ACT Government employees in their journey of lifelong learning • support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the transition from study to employment.

Skill Sets Trial Evaluation • Skills Canberra commenced a trial of Skill Sets funding under its Skilled Capital initiative in August 2017. • Skills Canberra is planning to undertake an evaluation to- • determine the effectiveness of the Skill Sets trial, • identify program strengths and weaknesses, • recommend improvements to current structure of Skill Sets funding, and • recommend direction for program continuity. • The evaluation will comprise of data analysis, consultation, and analysis of student survey responses. • The evaluation will be conducted during April 2019.
