  2. Setting • The setting takes place in a small town in Alabama • Emmy lives in a small house with her 4 sisters and 2 brothers

  4. Conflict • Man vs Self because she has to move schools and it was hard for because she left all her friends • She also had a rough time losing her grandpa even though he was rude at times

  5. Summary of Plot • The summary of this book is about Emmy helping out her mom while she's at work. Then Emmy had to move schools because her family got kicked out. Then they end up getting a new house and she loses her grandpa from a ill he had got.

  6. Theme • The theme of this book is about caring for someone you care about • Text Evidence 2: Emmy cared about her grandpa • Text Evidence 3: She would feed her family and watch over them

  7. Point of View • The first person would be Emmy because she is the main character. She also says what happens in the story and why it happened. She also sometimes explains some character and says how they act

  8. Symbolism • The symbol for this book would be bread because she would feed her family bread and she also would make bread when her mom would be there, because she barely sees her mom because she’s at work.

  9. Recommendation • I recommend this book because it is very interesting and it also describes the characters a lot • But this book is also very emotional so I guess it would be for people that like sad books
