  3. 1.What it is and Main Objective What it is? The MSS was developed to evaluate the leadership skills of Embraco leaders, focused on their development, retention and commitment of the team. Main Objective Provide feedback to all managerial and leadership positions, aiming to develop their leadership skills and consequently leveraging their teams’ engagement.

  4. 2.Elegibility President, VPs, Directors, Managers and Leaders. Appraisers All Direct Reports complete the MSS evaluation At least 3 Direct Reports In case the number of Direct Reports is not enough (3 at least), the appraisee must chose up to 4 Indirect Reports (not peers). Appraisees

  5. 3.MSS Process SURVEY RESULTS ACTIONS • Who evaluate: all direct reports and some indirect reports in case needed; • HR checks and validates list of Appraisees; • HR and Appraisees validate list of appraisers; • MSS is disclosed; • Appraisers + appraisees answer the survey. • Processing the report of MSS evaluation; • Appraiseees and Appraisees’ superiors access the final report; • MSS Leadership Profiles is sent to all Appraisees; • Appraisees receive feedback of MSS from their superiors. • Identify Appraisees development actions; • Consider results as input for IDP and Talent Pool. Important: Evaluation is anonymous; Employees reporting to more than one leader/manager must answer both evaluations; ALL direct reports must evaluate their superios; An Appraisee must have at least 3 appraisers; Commitment of all with the evaluation process is regarded.

  6. 4.MSS Quantitative Questions This set of 13 questions will provide an overview about the Appraises leadership skills, analyzing how effective he/she is in achieving results through people. Helps me define clear objectives; Holds me accountable for achieving my objectives; Challenges and supports me to achieve extraordinary results; Ensures I am fully Informed and equipped to achieve extraordinary results; Helps connect my work to the company's strategy; Acknowledges and recognizes me for my work/results; Engages me, I want to come to work and contribute; Values me and my opinions - even when we disagree; Includes me, helps remove barriers to my full Inclusion; Works with me to define my career direction; Provides regular and useful coaching and feedback; Is a role model - he/she has established a positive example for me. Builds high performing teams (new!)

  8. 6.MSS Quantitative Questions – Scale 5 4 3 2 1 Role Model(Is an example of excellence in this topic. Is perceived by others as a role model regarding this matter. He/she is among the best in this behavior in the organization). Highly Competent (This area is clearly a strenght. Frequently and consistently demonstrate positive behavior in this matter. Leads and influences others in this aspect). Competent (Proficient. Effectively leads people in this matter and contributes for the overall positive performance with this behavior). Development Needed (Inconsistent deliverables. Still has room to improve to be clearly considered effective). Significant Develop. Needed(This is a clear need for development. Significant improvements related to this topic are necessary to be considered a effective leader).

  9. 6.MSS Quantitative Questions – Scale Notobserved(When the specific skill is not observed among all the leader’s skills. Doesn’t mean he/she doesn’t have it, just means that the subordinate was not able to notice this skill, because of lack of time or opportunities. These answers will be automatically removed from the evaluation, so that the final results won’t be influenced by the low grade. It’s important to mention that each subordinate can mark only up to 3 “not observed” answers. If he/she marks more than 3, his/her evaluation will also be removed from the system). SURVEY ACTIONS 0

  10. 7.MSS Results After finishing all the forms, the system will create the following reports, to be used for individual development planning.

  11. 8.MSS Leadership Profiles Since you were all evaluated in MSS (Management Skills Survey), we are glad to provide you “Leadership Profiles”. Leadership Profiles is a support material, based on structured Action Plans, directed to 4 different kinds of leaderships. Each kind of leadership has a specific Action Plan.
