  12. 7th grade Goals Health Fitness: I will be in the HFZ in 4 out of the 5 fitness testing areas by the end of the year. • Science • I can apply the Scientific Method to a laboratory investigation. • I can identify and differentiate between plant cells and animal cells. • I can identify and describe the functions of plant and animal organelles. • I can describe the relationship between cell structure and function. • I can identify and describe single-celled organisms.

  13. 8th grade Goals • Language Arts: • I can explain the elements of literature with evidence from a story. • I can use evidence from text to support my claims. • ELL: • I can identify key words and phrases and main ideas in spoken presentations and written texts. • I can read, decide what is important, and communicate answers to questions or solutions to problems. • I can write a summary of a short written text • Social Studies • I can identify and explain the 5 Themes of Geography in an ancient civilization. • I can create a works cited page that uses the correct format for internet and text sources. Intro to Algebra: • I can simplify small and large numbers into scientific notation. Algebra: • I can interpret key features of graphs and tables in terms of the quantities, and sketch graphs showing key features given a verbal description of the relationship. • I can find an appropriate domain that relates to a function and its graph. Geometry: • I can write the converse, inverse, and contrapositive of a valid proposition and determine their validity. • I can know, prove, and apply theorems about parallel and perpendicular lines. • I can know, prove, and apply the Pythagorean Theorem and its converse.
