  3. Where we’ve been • Pilot online feedback system • Steering group formed • Departmental and student surveys conducted – elicit requirements • Prototype developed – refined into system specification • System design and implementation

  4. Where we’ve been (cont) • Initial user trials conducted • Psychology department • Computing service • Further refinement on system • Full user trials conducted • Biology department • Maths department • Politics department

  5. Where we are now • Implementation complete • Collecting feedback from trials • Technical documentation of system

  6. Where we’re going • Refine system further if necessary • Publicise/advertise system to departments • Release system to departments and provide support • Maintenance/further development (?)

  7. Key features • Administrative time saving • Distributing, collecting, processing, class time • Access control • Anonymity • Archiving / storage

  8. Issue – Response Rate • Most departments seem to want a high one… but… • Many students state a lack of enjoyment in the feedback exercise • Many students claim to not have a strong opinion • Many students feel that their responses are not taken seriously • Mechanisms to help
