  3. I. Overcoming Fear By Faith • Noah (Hebrews 11:7)  • By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. • بِالإِيمَانِ نُوحٌ لَمَّا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْهِ عَنْ أُمُورٍ لَمْ تُرَ بَعْدُ خَافَ، فَبَنَى فُلْكاً لِخَلاَصِ بَيْتِهِ، فَبِهِ دَانَ الْعَالَمَ، وَصَارَ وَارِثاً لِلْبِرِّ الَّذِي حَسَبَ الإِيمَانِ. • Rahab (Hebrews 11:31) • By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies. • بِالإِيمَانِ رَاحَابُ الزَّانِيَةُ لَمْ تَهْلِكْ مَعَ الْعُصَاةِ، إِذْ قَبِلَتِ الْجَاسُوسَيْنِ بِسَلاَمٍ.

The City of Refuge • Numbers 35:11 • then you shall select cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person without intent may flee there.   فَتُعَيِّنُونَ لأَنْفُسِكُمْ مُدُناً تَكُونُ مُدُنَ مَلجَأٍ لكُمْ لِيَهْرُبَ إِليْهَا القَاتِلُ الذِي قَتَل نَفْساً سَهْواً.

Salvation is by the Blood of Jesus, by Grace, through Faith • Heb 9:22  Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. • وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ تَقْرِيباً يَتَطَهَّرُ حَسَبَ النَّامُوسِ بِالدَّمِ، وَبِدُونِ سَفْكِ دَمٍ لاَ تَحْصُلُ مَغْفِرَةٌ! • Rom 1:17  as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith." • كَمَا هُوَ مَكْتُوبٌ«أَمَّا الْبَارُّ فَبِالإِيمَان يَحْيَا». • Eph. 2:8  “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God” • لأَنَّكُمْ بِالنِّعْمَةِ مُخَلَّصُونَ، بِالإِيمَانِ، وَذَلِكَ لَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ. هُوَ عَطِيَّةُ اللهِ.

  7. Conclusion No. 1 • You cannot be saved except by Jesus (our Ark) • Salvation is offered for free now (By Grace) • The door of the Ark is still open, will you come in • Will you place the crimson rope at your home today? • Faith requires obedience

  8. II. The Holy Scripture that Gives Victory over Temptation • Satan uses three circles to tempt us • The circle of need • The circle of the mind • The circle of the kingdoms of the earth (self and pride)

Temptation at the time of Need • Matt. 4:3  And the tempter came and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread." 3  فَتَقَدَّمَ إِلَيْهِ الْمُجَرِّبُ وَقَالَ لَهُ: «إِنْ كُنْتَ ابْنَ اللَّهِ فَقُلْ أَنْ تَصِيرَ هَذِهِ الْحِجَارَةُ خُبْزاً». • Matt. 4:4  But he (Jesus) answered, "It is written, "'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” • فَأَجَابَ: «مَكْتُوبٌ: لَيْسَ بِالْخُبْزِ وَحْدَهُ يَحْيَا الإِنْسَانُ بَلْ بِكُلِّ كَلِمَةٍ تَخْرُجُ مِنْ فَمِ اللَّهِ».

  10. Temptation of the Mind - Doubt • Matt. 4:6  “and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, "'He will command his angels concerning you,' and "'On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.'"   وَقَالَ لَهُ: «إِنْ كُنْتَ ابْنَ اللَّهِ فَاطْرَحْ نَفْسَكَ إِلَى أَسْفَلُ لأَنَّهُ مَكْتُوبٌ: أَنَّهُ يُوصِي مَلاَئِكَتَهُ بِكَ فَعَلَى أيَادِيهِمْ يَحْمِلُونَكَ لِكَيْ لاَ تَصْدِمَ بِحَجَرٍ رِجْلَكَ». • Matt. 4:7  “Jesus said to him, "Again it is written, 'You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.'"   قَالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «مَكْتُوبٌ أَيْضاً: لاَ تُجَرِّبِ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكَ».

  11. Temptation of the Self Pride • Matt. 4:9 ”And he said to him, "All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me." • وَقَالَ لَهُ: «أُعْطِيكَ هَذِهِ جَمِيعَهَا إِنْ خَرَرْتَ وَسَجَدْتَ لِي». • Matt. 4:10  “Then Jesus said to him, "Be gone, Satan! For it is written, "'You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” • حِينَئِذٍ قَالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «اذْهَبْ يَا شَيْطَانُ! لأَنَّهُ مَكْتُوبٌ: لِلرَّبِّ إِلَهِكَ تَسْجُدُ وَإِيَّاهُ وَحْدَهُ تَعْبُدُ».

  12. The full temptation of the Devil • 1John 2:16  For all that is in the world--the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life--is not from the Father but is from the world. • لأَنَّ كُلَّ مَا فِي الْعَالَمِ شَهْوَةَ الْجَسَدِ، وَشَهْوَةَ الْعُيُونِ، وَتَعَظُّمَ الْمَعِيشَةِ، لَيْسَ مِنَ الآبِ بَلْ مِنَ الْعَالَمِ.

Without the Scripture we are lost • Hosea 4: 6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; • قَدْ هَلَكَ شَعْبِي مِنْ عَدَمِ الْمَعْرِفَةِ. • Matt. 22:29  But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God. • فَأَجَابَ يَسُوعُ: «تَضِلُّونَ إِذْ لاَ تَعْرِفُونَ الْكُتُبَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ اللَّهِ. • Isaiah 5:13  Therefore my people go into exile for lack of knowledge; • لِذَلِكَ سُبِيَ شَعْبِي لِعَدَمِ الْمَعْرِفَةِ

  14. We Have the Prophetic Word • 2 Pet 1:19“And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, • وَعِنْدَنَا الْكَلِمَةُ النَّبَوِيَّةُ، وَهِيَ أَثْبَتُ، الَّتِي تَفْعَلُونَ حَسَناً إِنِ انْتَبَهْتُمْ إِلَيْهَا كَمَا إِلَى سِرَاجٍ مُنِيرٍ فِي مَوْضِعٍ مُظْلِمٍ، إِلَى أَنْ يَنْفَجِرَ النَّهَارُ وَيَطْلَعَ كَوْكَبُ الصُّبْحِ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ، • Are we like the people of Berea?

  15. Conclusion No. II • Put on God’s Full Armor (Eph. 6:10-18) • The helmet of salvation • The sword of the Spirit (The Word) • The breastplate of righteousness • The belt of truth • The preparedness of the Gospel of peace • Carrying the shield of faith • Praying • Watching

  16. III. Follow Me and I will make you Fishers of Men • Matt. 4: 19  And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.“ • فَقَالَ لَهُمَا: «هَلُمَّ وَرَائِي فَأَجْعَلُكُمَا صَيَّادَيِ النَّاسِ». • Jesus changed their work, culture and purpose in life • God’s calling to all • Evangelism is not a burden put on us by Christ! • Evangelism is a natural result of the life changing experience when we are born again

  17. Where Do We Stand • Does our social life prevent you from serving? • Does money and material things prevent us from serving? • Does your family situation prevent us from serving?

  18. Three Obstacles to Evangelism • Luke 9:59  To another he said, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." وَقَالَ لِآخَرَ: «اتْبَعْنِي». فَقَالَ: «يَا سَيِّدُ ائْذَنْ لِي أَنْ أَمْضِيَ أَوَّلاً وَأَدْفِنَ أَبِي». • Luke 18:18  And a ruler asked him, "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" • وَسَأَلَهُ رَئِيسٌ: «أَيُّهَا الْمُعَلِّمُ الصَّالِحُ مَاذَا أَعْمَلُ لأَرِثَ الْحَيَاةَ الأَبَدِيَّةَ؟» • Luke 18:22  When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." • فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ يَسُوعُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ لَهُ: «يُعْوِزُكَ أَيْضاً شَيْءٌ. بِعْ كُلَّ مَا لَكَ وَوَزِّعْ عَلَى الْفُقَرَاءِ فَيَكُونَ لَكَ كَنْزٌ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَتَعَالَ اتْبَعْنِي». • Luke 18:23  But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. • فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ حَزِنَ لأَنَّهُ كَانَ غَنِيّاً جِدّاً.

  19. Three Obstacles to Evangelism • Luke 9:60  And Jesus said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God." 60  فَقَالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «دَعِ الْمَوْتَى يَدْفِنُونَ مَوْتَاهُمْ وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ فَاذْهَبْ وَنَادِ بِمَلَكُوتِ اللهِ». • Luke 9:61  Yet another said, "I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home."   وَقَالَ آخَرُ أَيْضاً: «أَتْبَعُكَ يَا سَيِّدُ وَلَكِنِ ائْذِنْ لِي أَوَّلاً أَنْ أُوَدِّعَ الَّذِينَ فِي بَيْتِي».

  20. Conclusion No. III • God is calling you and has a purpose in your life • Being alive today means Serve the Lord! • Leave your nets and become a fisher of men! • Come to Christ now and leave your nets, the boat and everything else that distracts you • God says; I will change you and equip you and use you for His glory • Follow Jesus and become a soul winner
