Film Analysis Red Eye The film ‘Red Eye’ is similar to the opening sequence that we are creating. It involves a stalker who tracks down a woman in order to get her father to move somewhere so the man can get him killed. The woman tries to get away from the stalker and to save her father in time before someone hurts or kills him. Our opening sequence is similar as it is about a man who stalks a man who his ex-girlfriend cheated on him with. The man stalks them both and then kills the other man; he then kills some friends of his ex to get the girl scared and aware that she might be next. These 2 films are similar as they both have man stalkers who seek out a girl so that they can either get revenge or some money out of the situation. The main character in this film is similar to my character in our opening sequence as he stalks somebody like my character in order to get what he wants or to get revenge. The female characters in this film and our opening sequence are also similar as in the beginning they are friendly with the main character and trust him but don’t realise that everything is about to change.
Scream ‘Scream’ is also a similar film to our opening sequence; it is about a psycho stalking murderer who goes out killing a large amount of teenagers and then sets his eyes on a new group who decide to take action to try and survive this ordeal. This is similar to the opening sequence as our character kills people in order to get revenge on his unfaithful girlfriend. These 2 films are similar as they are both about stalkers and about a murderous madman who goes on a rampage. In scream, a killer known as ‘ghost face’ begins killing off teenagers, and as the body count begins rising, one girl and her friends find themselves contemplating the "Rules" of horror films as they find themselves living in a real-life one. ‘Ghost face’ is similar to the main character in our opening sequence as both characters identities are concealed throughout the film whilst they are murdering innocent people so they don’t get caught and their murderous rage continues
