  2. Kinds of Modal Auxiliary • can/could • Showing Permission (Ijin) You can take it if you like. She can use my ruler for her math test. • Showing Possibility (kemungkinan) You can have good scores if you prepare your test well.

  3. Showing Ability (Kemampuan) Tyson can beat his opponent easily. When I was young, I could run very fast. • Showing (Polite) Request Could I use your car tomorrow? What time could I see the principle this afternoon?
