Homework • The purpose of homework is to reinforce and practice what is taught in class, as well as, to promote responsibility. • Students will receive an agenda each week to record homework on. The agenda needs to be brought back to school each day. On Friday it will be sent home with a behavior grade for the week and needs to be signed by a parent and returned on Monday. • Homework will be assigned each Friday on the website and is due the following Friday. • Students are expected to read 15 min. a day. This must be done with a book at the appropriate reading level. • Math homework will be sent home nightly to be returned the following day. • Spelling will be done on www.spellingcity.com • Non-fiction reading passages will be assigned and need to be printed at home from our webpage • A writing topic will be assigned every other week to write a paragraph on and share as an oral language assignment. • Cursive will be assigned each week and can be printed from the web page and returned on Friday. One home project will assigned each trimester and will require an oral presentation.

In his dream, he saw a big box of gold coins buried near the bushes in his backyard. The dream seemed so real to Jimmy. He began to think that maybe there really was a treasure in his backyard, near the bushes. 1.Why did Jimmy think there was real treasure in his backyard? Jimmy thought that there was a real treasure in his backyard because he had a dream about a treasure in his backyard and the dream seemed so real.

Classroom Rules 1. Follow directions the first time they are given. 2. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. 3. Remain in your seat unless directed otherwise. 4. Miscellaneous Information • Parents Must always check in through the office • Parent calls will not be connected to the classroom during instruction. • Rosa Parks follows the Healthy Foods Mandate • No home-cooked goods are allowed; they must be store bought. • Only three classroom parties are allowed during the school year. • Goodie -bags can be sent home at the end of the day to celebrate birthdays.
