  2. Situation Both a man and a woman have never had intercourse but they have performed oral sex on each other. The woman has flue-like symptoms and swollen glands, it burns her labia when she urinates. Her boyfriend has what he though was a mosquito bite on the shaft of his penis and has “chapped” lips.

Possibilities • Genital Herpes; symptoms like a sore on your genitals, especially one that periodically recurs .There is no cure for herpes, but treatment is available to reduce symptoms and decrease the risk of transmission to a partner. • HIV; Flu-like illness within several days to weeks after exposure to the virus, fever, headache, tiredness, and enlarged lymph glands in the neck.

  5. Genital Herpes • Symptoms like a sore on your genitals, especially one that periodically recurs .There is no cure for herpes, but treatment is available to reduce symptoms and decrease the risk of transmission to a partner. • Exactly what the couple had.
