Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust During the 2nd evaluation of OLM eLearning covering two courses, IG and Infection Control the Trust recognised the following benefits: • Potential cost savings of over £100,000 if a 90% compliance rate was achieved over the two subjects if delivered solely by eLearning. The Trust has c.2400 employees. • e-Learning delivered a slightly more favourable knowledge retention rate than face to face training • Feedback from subject matter leads and staff had significantly improved with staff achieving higher compliance rates • Over time technical issues reported by staff decreased by 30% despite a dramatic increase in system use
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust • Safeguarding Children Level 1 completions in total 3568 (1808 through eLearning, 1760 by face to face). The results are as follows: • Average Time for eLearning (allowing 15 minutes to log on) = 49 minutes • Average Time for 1 hour face to face (allowing 45mins to travel) = 105 minutes • This freed up 1687 hours (70 days) of time over the period of the project (2 months) which would otherwise have been spent away from service delivery
