AMARICAN HEROES. By:Carolyn. Paul Revere 1735-1818. He lived in Boston Mass. when Great Britain ruled the 13 colonies. People in Boston started to boycott items from Britain since they were not free. He helped by fighting for freedom. Frederick Douglass 1818-1895.

  2. Paul Revere 1735-1818 • He lived in Boston Mass. when Great Britain ruled the 13 colonies. • People in Boston started to boycott items from Britain since they were not free. • He helped by fighting for freedom.

  3. Frederick Douglass1818-1895 • He lived in Maryland and was also a slave. • Hetaughthimself how to read and write the more he read the more he wanted freedom. • He wanted equal rights for everyone. • He escaped on a train to New York City.

  4. Susan B. Anthony1820-1906 She gave speeches She was a teacher Women could not vote but she did. Quaker church Boys and Girls are equal She got arrested! She wanted peace

  5. Franklin Delano Roosevelt 1884-1962 Was very wealthy At 39 he had polio and he could not walk Swam in Warm Springs Georgia to help his legs Had a horse named Debby Drove a red car 22 miles per hour Was president

  6. Eleanor Roosevelt 1884-1962 she helped people around the world She was his eyes and ears Was a shy girl Opened up a school Taught African kids how to read

  7. Mary McLeod Bethune • Justice diligence • Wasn’t a slave • Couldn’t go to school • Started clubs for African Americans • President hired her to work with N.Y.A • She taught African Americans at her only school

  8. Lyndon .B. Johnson • Born in Stonewall ,Texas • He was very poor • He thinks education is the way to stop poverty • He created the Great Ciciety • Congress man – President • Helped housing , voting, education, and health • In 1937 he ran for House of Represenitives • Worked in the Senate

  9. Thurgood Marshall • Was a African American • Grew up when laws were limited for African Americans • When he got in trouble at school he had to read the Constitution • He became law partners with Hamilton Housten • Born in Baltimore, Maryland

  11. 1927-1993 Cesar Chavez Made money Working on a farm. Went to 30 different Schools. His wife received a medal TRAITS Diligence Justice Freedom Of expiration Sometime NOT paid NOT Treated Fairly!!! Lived in Yuma, Arizona

  12. Susan B.Anthony • My favorite person is Susan B.Anthony because she helped Woman’s rights and believed woman's should be able to vote!!!!!!!!!
