Why do you need it? • When you use other people’s words you need to give them credit • If you don’t give them credit it is PLAGERISM
How does it work? • When you use someone else’s words in your essays you need to show that they belong to someone else by putting quotation marks around them and referencing at the end. • EXAMPLE: During World War II Jewish people experienced widespread discrimination. “If one’s parents were born Jewish, one was classified as a Jew,”(Dick, 2007, p.5).
At the End • At the end of your essay you need to have a bibliography. • This needs to list every book or website you used for research. • On this page, your list has to be in alphabetical order by the author’s last name. BIBLIOGRAPY Dick, T. (2007). Getting Out Alive. Toronto: The Azrieli Foundation.
BOOKS After Quotation: (Dick, 2007, p.5) In Bibliography: Dick, T. (2007). Getting Out Alive. Toronto: The Azrieli Foundation.
