Scissors • Scissors can be bigger or smaller • Smaller ones are used to cut threads. • Lager ones for fabric • Usually smaller than shears • There is no left or right handed scissors – the handles are the same size for both sides.
Seam Ripper • Used to remove stitches when you want to take something apart • Used to remove stitches when you make a mistake
Shears – Left/Right Handed • Used to cut fabric and thread – never used to cut paper – dulls shears • They have two different sized finger holes.
Pin Cushion • A pin cushion is the storage place for pins and needles • The emery bag contains a mineral substance used to sharpen the points of pins and needles
